INDUSTRY INSIGHT WWW.CHTMAG.COM  NEWS 4 JULY / AUGUST 2016 CLEANING HYGIENE TODAY GAME, SET AND MATCH FOR RUTHERFOORD Julius Rutherfoord has secured a contract with The Queen’s Club in West Kensington, London, to deliver a range of cleaning services at multiple buildings across the sports complex. Established in 1886, the Queen’s Club is one of the world’s oldest multipurpose sports complexes with an array of rackets sports available. Today the venue plays host to the world famous Aegon Championships, the World Rackets Championships, leading Real Tennis events, including the British Open and from 2009 The ATCO Super Series Squash Finals. Along with first class sporting facilities the Club also offers a number of entertaining and dining facilities. The Houses of Parliament has renewed its cleaning contract with facilities management provider, Servest Group, following a successful three-year working relationship. The new five-year deal which commences September 2016, will see Servest provide a team of more than 180 employees to deliver cleaning services to 13 core buildings across the Parliamentary Estate, including the Grade I listed Palace of Westminster. Commenting on the new contract award, Rob Legge, Servest’s CEO UK and Europe, said: “We are delighted to be extending our working relationship with the Houses of Parliament for the next five years and continue to deliver a mutually beneficial partnership with them.” SERVEST RETAINS HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT CLEANING CONTRACT EUROPEAN CLEANING & HYGIENE AWARDS 2016 FINALISTS ANNOUNCED The inaugural European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards 2016 has revealed its shortlist of finalists. Close to 100 entries were submitted by service providers, manufacturers and distributors, which have now been whittled down by the judges across 10 categories. Launched by ECJ (European Cleaning Journal), the winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the fivestar Majestic Hotel in Barcelona on 29 September. There will be awards handed out in the following categories: BEST USE OF TECHNOLOGY BY CONTRACTORS IN THEIR CLEANING PROGRAMME DEVON NORSE’S CLEANING DIVISION GROWS EDUCATION PORTFOLIO Devon Norse has secured the cleaning contracts at two education establishments. Following a period with a competitor company, Dawlish Community College has returned to Devon Norse with a three-year deal. Westcliff Primary School has also recently returned to Devon Norse for its services. It was the second meeting since the relaunch of the Association back in February 2016.
